While working as a middle school teacher, Janna took a yoga teaching training where she got her first taste of what wellness could really be. Though she had practiced yoga off and on throughout her life, nothing prepared her for this new experience and the insights she would gain. She wanted to continue learning more and so she chose to pivot her career to wellness and finding a way to live the life that she had glimpsed in her yoga training.

She then moved into corporate wellness where she quickly began to specialize in stress management, focusing on collaborating with clients to identify habits and behaviors that were no longer serving an individual and using their personal strengths and insights, along with the latest evidence-based behavior change techniques to identify and replace triggers and alter behavior patterns. As part of this process she was able to witness dramatic changes for many people and came to realize that those who created the most enduring stress management did so by aligning their actions with their goals and values.

The next step in her journey was to pursue a doula certification, inspired by her curiosity in her own current phase of life. After completing a doula internship at the Minnesota Birth Center, she is excited to be part of the George Wellbeing team and integrate her experiences with pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum phase, with her stress management coaching to offer holistic support to young people and their families, no matter where they are on their journey.
