River Valley Y Supports Community Where They Need It Most
Over the past year the YMCA has worked with community partners and leaders on re-imagining how to best serve the community. Through community discussions, it became apparent that there were many critical needs for youth, families, adults and seniors. The four focus areas resulted in aquatics, child care, wellbeing and fitness, and a resource center with support services. To best address these areas the Y and community partners have prioritized and will be continuing to pilot programs and services to meet these needs. With our operating model going forward, there are changes to programs being offered so we can be more efficient and align our efforts where we best meet the needs of our community.
We continue to offer programs supporting sports, school age care and the Early Childhood Learning Center. In June, through a partnership with the City of Prior Lake and the South Metro StormChasers we were able to provide access to our aquatics facilities and splash deck. In August, we are partnering with Scott County to be one of the pilot sites for the Family Resource Center. For the Fall, we are exploring how we can provided a customized model for fitness and wellbeing. While the River Valley YMCA continues to reimagine itself, we are focused on offering a customized menu to best fit each individual need.
The Y is excited to create a community center where all gather safely to learn, grow and thrive in new activities and adventures! A place where all can belong!
