Presented by YMCA of the North
Apple Valley, MN (February 11, 2026) – The Minnesota Zoo invites guests of all ages to celebrate Winterfest, a two-day, wellness-focused event presented by YMCA of the North, taking place Sunday, February 15 and Monday, February 16.
Winterfest encourages visitors to bundle up, get outside, and reconnect with nature. Winter is one of the best times to visit the Zoo, as cold-loving animals such as red pandas, tigers, wolves, and bison are especially active and playful in the snow.
With support from YMCA of the North, Winterfest wellness activities are included with Zoo admission. With kids out of school, Winterfest offers a seasonal getaway to embrace winter and connect with wildlife. Guests can round out their wellness escape with a stroll through the 78-degree Tropics Trail or explore the cool blue waters of Discovery Bay.
Activities Included with Zoo Admission:
- Guided Hikes Through Zoo Trails: Led walks that blend movement, nature, and fresh air
- Animal Encounters: Opportunities to see and learn about select Zoo animals up close
- Sound Bath: An immersive experience using deep sound vibrations to promote relaxation
- Snow-ga: Outdoor yoga sessions designed to energize and restore under winter skies
- 360-Degree Photobooth: Capture a fun, interactive photo to remember the day
