As an experienced garden educator with a focus on the health benefits of gardening, Elsa hopes to connect you with a sense of belonging, empowerment, and excitement around growing your own food! Discover how homegrown produce can provide the vitamins and minerals that contribute to a healthy diet, as well as lifelong stress reduction and a sense of purpose. Gardening could be part of your holistic health as work toward your best self!

Through working on large organic farms, small family farms, school/camp gardens, and on the grounds of a holistic retreat center, Elsa became intimately aware that food is so much more than mere calories – the conditions of where and how it was grown, in addition to nutritional content, play a huge role in how it nourishes our bodies. How food is grown has a huge impact on the surrounding ecosystems, which in turn directly affects our own health. Elsa has committed to teaching others about the gardening process and the importance of “local” in our consideration of what healthy food is. Elsa once struggled to cultivate a garden, but after growing a green thumb through trial and error, she can speak from experience and work with you to begin your own gardening practice.

Believe it or not, Elsa loves gardening in her free time, as well as watercolor painting, birdwatching, foraging for wild edibles, and reading science fiction!
