Being from Louisiana, food has always been on Lyntrell’s radar, and often times, it was not the healthiest choices . After taking a college nutrition course, she became intrigued on the effects bad foods had on the human body,  in particular, African Americans being that they are twice as likely to die from diabetes, and suffer from high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

As a Garden Program Manager at the Harold Mezile YMCA with a Nutrition focus, her primary objectives are to bring a vision for overall health and wellbeing to underserved communities. Over the past year, she has been able to assist with bringing the Greenhouse Project to life by supporting the youth with planting and maintaining vegetation, creating healthy eating curriculums and programs that showcases “farm- to- table.” She is passionate about her role in the health and wellness arena and brings exuberant energy to those surrounded by her.
