Looking for meaningful summer work in the youth development and nature space? At DayCroix, you’ll join a day camp community focused on mission driven, camper focused experiences, rooted in the Y of the North’s five core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Equity, and Responsibility. Whether you’re a counselor with a group of campers, or a member of our Lead Staff team, you’ll have the chance to grow and learn as a leader in camp and make a lasting impact.

Summer 2026 Hiring Timeline
December 22 – Applications open
We will conduct interviews on a rolling basis beginning January 5, with a goal of having the majority of our summer team in place by late Spring. We will communicate through email, using the address you provided when you applied.
Day Camp Counselor
As a Day Camp Counselor, you will lead a group of campers (between ages 4-14) through nature-based activities to ensure a safe, fun, and engaging experience. Through comprehensive staff training and hands-on learning, you’ll gain the skills to assist in facilitating activities such as canoeing, target sports, waterfront programs, arts & crafts, nature exploration, campfires, and location based amenities. Our camper weeks run Monday through Friday, from 9am-4pm. Busing is available at various locations that are nearby our day camp locations. Day Camp offers outdoor experiences for youth ages 4-14, focusing on personal growth, social development, physical well-being, and a deeper connection to the natural environment.
Age Requirement: 16+
Season: June 8 through September 4
Pay Rate: Hourly, starting at $15.50
Day Camp Lead Team
As a member of our Lead Staff team, you will support the overall operations, safety and flow of day camp, while overseeing a specific focus or program area (i.e. Climbing Director, Arts & Crafts Director, Nature Director, Youth Advocate, etc.). These Lead Staff team members may be in ratio with groups at certain times, as the need arises.
Age Requirement: 18+ preferred
Season: May 27 – September 4
Pay Rate: Hourly, starting at $17
