The American Birkebeiner is the largest cross-country skiing race in North America. The race is held in Hayward, Wisconsin, February 18-22 and draws more than 10,000 skiers from around the world (and even more spectators) to race, cheer and gather for a weekend of fun.

At Camp Widjiwagan, inspiring lifelong adventure is central to our mission. The American Birkebeiner stands out as an event that reflects this spirit, and we are proud that so many Widji alumni ski it each year.

Widji will be at the Birkie Expo in Hayward this year to connect with alumni, share information for future campers, and highlight ways to support our work. We hope you will stop by and say hello.

The Expo is open to the public on the following:

  • Thursday, Feb 19: 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.  
  • Friday, Feb 20: 9:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.

The Birkie Expo will be held at the Hayward High School (10320 N Greenwood Lane, Hayward, WI). Booth #125
