Why Camp Icaghowan
Choose Camp Icaghowan for an Unforgettable Experience
"Icaghowan" is a Native American word that means "to grow in every way." When kids and teens attend one of the YMCA's summer camp programs at Camp Icaghowan, this is exactly what they'll do. Whether their stay is three nights or three weeks, campers will have the opportunity to explore nature, improve their fitness, participate in fun group activities, and form close bonds with each other and their counselors.
Camp Icaghowan is located on Lake Wapogassett, just outside of the city of Amery in Northwest Wisconsin. For more than a century, campers ages 7-17 have been coming here for summer adventures full of friendship, learning, and tons of fun. "One Island, One Family," is a common saying among our staff; after attending one of our summer camp programs, your kids will understand why we think this place is so magical.
