Outdoor Sports Camps

Kids have fun in the fresh air learning about equipment and technique.

Archery/Slingshot Camp

Entering grades 1 – 3 in fall

Member Participants: $242/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $267/week

Weeks of June 21, July 12, July 26 and August 23

Two amazing and traditional target sports, the bow and arrow and the slingshot, are very popular today. Participants will gain understanding and learn to properly use them both safely. Campers will learn to make and use their own targets, and learn the basics of aiming and target shooting.

Archery Camp

Entering grades 4 – 6 in fall

Member Participants: $242/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $267/week

Weeks of June 14, July 6, August 2, August 16 and August 30

While learning the fundamentals of archery, campers examine equipment close up, identify the parts of the bow and arrow, and learn the science behind drawing the bow and releasing the arrow. Instructors teach proper grip, stance and aim alignment. Equipment is provided.

Challenge Camp

Entering grades 4 – 6 in fall

Member Participants: $272/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $297/week

Weeks of June 21, July 19, August 9 and August 16

Campers strike out on a bold adventure as they test their strength, strategy and skill. Climbers learn about basic climbing, belay techniques, knot tying and climbing safety. Fun team challenge initiatives will aid in a successful climb. Two to three hours a day will be spent on the Challenge Course at a variety of Y camps.

Outdoor Games Camp

Entering grades 4 – 6 in fall

Member Participants: $227/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $252/week

Weeks of June 21, July 19, August 9 and August 30

It’s all fun and games as campers learn to play a variety of outdoor games with a “camp style”. Campers learn to play Gaga, 9-square in the air and other field games. This camp is designed to build self-esteem and teamwork through fun, engaging activities.

Fishing Camp

Entering grades 4 – 6 in fall

Member Participants: $242/week
Non-Member Program Participants: $267/week

Weeks of June 14, June 28, July 12 and August 2

Kids get hooked on fishing as they learn basic fishing skills. Local lakes provide the scene for fishing fun using the catch-and-release method. Friday will be spent fishing from a pontoon. Campers can bring their own pole and tackle, or equipment will be provided.
