What is Gathering Pines?

The YMCA sold the Kici Yapi property in 2008 to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community who have partnered with the YMCA to lease back the property for operations ever since. Utilizing the funds from the sale, the YMCA searched the southern metro for a suitable location and found a perfect 225-acre parcel of land in Lakeville (New Market Township) just 30 minutes from the Southdale YMCA, this is Gathering Pines. The new location is made up of beautiful rolling hills, five ponds, breathtaking pastureland and biologically diverse wetlands.
