Cabins

Our cabins come with 12 beds, bunkbed style. Cabins have a meeting table with benches or chairs, plenty of windows, and a picturesque backdrop.

  • Arrowhead Cabins – Bungalow-style cabins with secluded gathering space. Mini fridges are available upon request. Arrowhead cabins have electricity and are equipped with space heaters. Shared restrooms and showers are nearby.
  • Traditional Cabins – Cabins 1-6 are equipped with 12 beds in each, large gathering space,  heat, and electricity, all with a lakefront view. A shared bathhouse with restrooms and showers is nearby. Cabins 8-12 are available in the Fall and Spring and offer a more rustic experience. These cabins are charming, near the lake, and are not winterized. They, too, are near a shared bathhouse with showers and restrooms.
Yurts

Each yurt sleeps up to four people in a shared, circular bedroom.

  • Wilderness Yurt – Our Wilderness Yurt has electricity and is closer to the main buildings on our Island property. Shared restrooms and showers are nearby.
  • Sunset Yurt – Our Sunset Yurt is more secluded on our mainland property. With incredible views of the bay and sunset, this is a prime location for fall. A bit more rustic than our other options, Sunset does not have electricity or running water. There is a private outhouse, covered pavilion, cooking space, and access to shared restrooms and showers on the Island.

FAQS

Can I request that my child be placed in the same cabin as their friend?

The short answer is: yes! At the YMCA of the North, we want to encourage socialization and the building of new friendships among campers, but we also want all of our campers to feel comfortable during our programs. As long as your child's friend is within two years of their age, they will be allowed to bunk together for our overnight youth summer camps.

You can request for your child to stay in the same cabin as a friend either on the initial registration form or by calling our customer service center. For the sake of strong group dynamics, we limit the number of friends who may bunk together to four per cabin. This way, your children can enjoy a fun experience with their friends at Camp Icaghowan, while also making new friends during their stay.

Do the yurts at Camp Icaghowan have electricity?

Camp Icaghowan has two yurts that campers may stay in for our overnight programs: Wilderness Yurt and Sunset Yurt. The Wilderness Yurt is the one that has working electricity for campers to use. It is also located near shower and restroom facilities on the Island.

The Sunset Yurt does not have electricity, and it also doesn't have running water. This yurt was designed to provide a more rustic experience, hence its secluded location on the Island and its lack of modern amenities. Campers staying at Sunset Yurt can use a nearby outhouse and will be able to shower at the facilities on the Island.
