Farm Workshop: Kale and Squash Soup

posted on Fri, Oct 23 2020 9:43 am by YMCA YMCA Camp St. Croix

Enjoy an autumn morning by coming to Camp St. Croix and learning how to make a fall favorite: butternut squash and kale soup. During this morning on the farm, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to harvest and make soup with fresh ingredients in true farm to table style.

We are excited to welcome a chicken farmer Sal Dagget from Roosterhaven Farm in Deer Park, who will give us insight into life on a meat bird farm.

A big pot of soup will be cooked up to sample together, and squash and kale will be sent home with participants so they can cook a pot at home! Families are welcome, and no experience is necessary.”

YMCA Camp St. Croix 2019

Celebrating 110 Years in Camping

We realize that for many of you, your connection to Camp St. Croix is tied to the people you encountered and the experiences you shared. Whether staff, volunteer, friend, parent, or cabin mate, no matter your connection, people and shared experiences are what keep our mission alive and relevant. As we enter our 110th year, we are creating a meaningful gathering space for all to intentionally honor those dear to your Camp St. Croix experience. We are asking you to consider joining us in this project by purchasing a Legacy Brick. For $110, you will create a customizable, engraved, 4”x8” brick, laying the foundation of a space for you and future generations to gather and share your Croix story. With your help, we can lastingly celebrate the history and memories of all those influenced by the mission of Dear ol’ Camp St. Croix. Bricks will be sold throughout the festivities of our 110th year for the $110 rate. After 2019, bricks will be sold on an ongoing basis to incorporate the every growing number impacted by the people and mission of Camp St. Croix.
