We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. Day Camp is a 5-day enrichment program and the next step in youth development. Day Camp gives kids a traditional camp experience during the day. Every child will benefit from this connection with nature.

Summer 2020 Updates: Our summer day programs are open!

We are happy to announce that our YMCA Day Camps, Summer Power, Summer Uproar, Nature Power, Summer Sports and Childcare will be offering safe and adventure-filled programs that align with recommended guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Minnesota and Wisconsin Departments of Health this summer. We are excited to serve our communities with exceptional summer programs with slight modifications that can be found on our Summer Updates page. Summer program opportunities are still available.

However, we are unable to offer the enriching Y experience at our Overnight Camps (Warren, Icaghowan, Croix and Ihduhapi) and Wilderness Camps (Menogyn and Widjiwagan). Additionally, due to low enrollment, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all programming at Day Camp Manitou this summer.

The health and safety of our community is our number one priority, and we have carefully determined which summer programs we can offer this year with the guidance from medical experts. Please the review the Parent Handbook for additional information on how to prepare your camper for programming this summer.

Day Camp, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. But few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities.

With Healthy Living experiences woven throughout, camping teaches self-reliance, a love for nature and the outdoors, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character and leadership. The Day Camp experience is built on the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Y counselors are dedicated to making sure camp is an amazing experience for every camper. Accomplishments are marked with special beads for every camper to collect.
