Strikes, Spares & Scholarships: Center for Youth Voice Community Comes Together to Support Future Leaders

CYV Bowl-a-thon participants

On May 16, the Center for Youth Voice hosted its third annual Strikes for Scholarships Bowl-a-Thon, an evening filled with friendly competition, meaningful connection, and a shared commitment to empowering the next generation of civic leaders.

Teams of alumni, students, families, and friends of CYV gathered at the lanes for several spirited rounds of bowling, while supporters near and far joined the fun through an online silent auction featuring an exciting variety of donated items and experiences.

More than just a night out, the event was an opportunity for the CYV community to reconnect, celebrate the program's impact, and invest in its future. Together, participants and supporters helped raise an incredible $7,500 for the CYV Scholarship Fund, ensuring more young people can access transformative leadership and civic engagement experiences in the years ahead.

In 2025, 264 delegates were able to participate in programming and attend annual conferences thanks to supporters.

“The bowl-a-thon was a great chance to catch up with longtime supporters and meet new friends of the program,” shared CYV Operations Director Brianne Leibham. “It’s always energizing to see this community come together, especially when it’s all in support of raising scholarship funds for the next generation of civic leaders.”

A special thank-you goes to the generous sponsors who helped make this year’s event possible:

  • Elsie's Restaurant and Bowling Center
  • Momentum Advocacy
  • Loffler
  • Kiwanis Club of North Suburban Saint Paul

Thank you to everyone who bowled, bid online, donated, volunteered, and cheered on this event. Your support helps ensure that more young people can find their voice, grow as leaders, and make a difference in their communities.
