The YMCA Transitional Living Program supports young adults experiencing homelessness in the NW Suburbs with independence and stability.

  • Transitional Housing – YMCA staff help youth gain short-term access to shelter.
  • Housing Assistance – Youth are given help finding, securing, and maintaining an apartment.
  • One-On-On Support – Youth receive life coaching to help set (and attain) life-affirming goals.

Housing Programs

Stable Homes Stable Schools

Scattered-site family housing programming, supporting Minneapolis families with elementary-aged children by providing 36 months of rental subsidy and ongoing case management services.

This program is a collaborative initiative between the City of Minneapolis, the Minneapolis Public Husing Authority (MPHA), the Minneapolis Public School District (MPS), and the YMCA of the North. 
 

Independent Housing Programs - RRH

Scattered-site Independent Living/Rapid Rehousing programming, providing youth ages 18–24 with individualized support services, intensive life coaching, housing assistance/financial subsidies, and independent life skills training.

Independent Housing Programs - Safe Harbor

Scattered-site Independent Living/Rapid Rehousing programming, providing youth ages 18–24 who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing human trafficking and/or exploitation with individualized support services, intensive life coaching, housing assistance/financial subsidies, independent life skills training, and wraparound support with Enough. services.

Youth Supportive Housing Programs - Archdale

This onsite housing program offers services to residents to enhance their ability to maintain independent living.

Supportive Services address the special needs of the residents to be served.

Archdale has TH and PSH units and serves both young adults and single families. 

Youth Supportive Housing Programs - Barnabas

This onsite housing program offers services to residents to enhance their ability to maintain independent living.

Supportive Services address the special needs of the residents to be served.

Barnabas offers only PSH housing for youth and young adults. 

Youth Supportive Housing Programs - Prior Crossing

Site-based housing in St. Paul for youth ages 16-24 who have experienced homelessness or a long-term disability with individualized life coaching, including housing maintenance and search, subsidy assistance, independent life skills training, education and job resources, and wraparound support provided by a team of case managers.
