MN Legal Community Speed Networking Event for Students and Young Alums

Speed networking participants

On August 5th, the YMCA Center for Youth Voice hosted 16 local legal professionals and 16 future legal professionals at a fast-paced and fun speed networking event.

Every 8 minutes, students rotated among volunteer to have a new conversation with local attorneys, law students, law school admissions representatives, and even a Minnesota Supreme Court Justice. They asked questions about academic backgrounds, career paths, public service, scholarships, and more. It was a high-impact event that left students and professionals feeling energized and inspired.

Andy Bustamante, CYV alumni, was a participant at the event. He shared, “I would recommend this event to everyone because there are chances to network professionals and afterwards. I connected with several on LinkedIn.”

Another student shared, “Speaking to Justice Procaccini was an amazing experience. Justice Procaccini was really humble and informative; he might be my favorite Minnesota Supreme Court Justice.”

Director of Alumni Philanthropy Natalie King said, “CYV has an incredible network and so many resources to offer our young alumni. Our goal with these events is to give college students and recent grads the opportunity to make professional connections that will help them succeed in their career. I saw so many good conversations happen and I hope it leads to internships, mentorships, and jobs for our CYV alumni.”
