  • Comfortable running or tennis shoes that tie for climbing
  •  Loose fitting or stretchy pants for climbing 
  • Shoes that can get wet and stay on your feet for canoeing 
  • Hat with visor

Additional Items to Bring for River Trips

  • 1 Pair of footwear that is suitable for rough terrain and can get wet (like old tennis shoes or hiking boots). 
  • 1 Pair of sandals or light tennis shoes for the campsite. 
  • Swimsuit 
  • 2 pair shorts (quick drying fabrics are best) 
  • 2 pair of long pants (quick drying fabrics are best) 
  • 3-4 pair of wool blend or synthetic socks 
  • 4-5 pair of thin liner socks 
  • 3-4 shirts (1 long sleeved) 
  • 2 sturdy water bottles 
  • Sleeping bag (light weight and stuffable) 
  • 1 Dry bag or nylon bag for keeping personal gear dry 
  • Rain jacket and pants recommended (ponchos are discouraged) 
  • Toiletries / Biodegradable soap 
  • Insect repellent (non-aerosol) 
  • 2 bandanas and hat with visor 
  • Sunglasses, SPF 30 or greater sunblock and chap stick 
  • Chamois towel (wrings out)
