The original cabin on this site was named Jack's House and was the fourth cabin built at du Nord. It was named for Jack Parent, a dedicated caretaker who was an ex-lumberjack that came to du Nord in 1936. In the winter of 1990/91, du Nord was hit by fire and Jack's House was lost to the flame. Jack's II was built in the summer of 1991 and available for occupancy by July of that year. It has two bedrooms and a sleeping loft, a great room, a kitchen, a bathroom, a dining area, and living area with a wood stove. It has a beautiful view of Burntside through the branches of the boreal forest.
