If you like simple living and want to stay dry and bug free our bungalows are just what you're looking for. More than a tent, but with just the necessities (or within a short walk of the necessities). You and your family or friends can stay in a knotty-pine paneled one-room cabin next to beautiful Bear Island Lake, right in the middle of some of the most pristine wilderness in the country.

They each include a refrigerator, microwave, dual-burning hot plate, screened-in porch, picnic table outside and charcoal grill. A shared fire ring is located just outside your door. Bath facilities are a short walk away in a bathhouse building. These cabins are non-smoking, and seasonal, available in the summer only.

Located in Back of Beyond Village

The original resort that operated these cabins was founded in 1939, and at that time, it was called Buena Vista—however, the owners’ daughters wanted to name the resort Back of Beyond because it was more mysterious and puzzling. Back of Beyond means “a distant place, extremely remote”—in other words, a great place to getaway!

The bungalows in Back of Beyond Village are named after frogs that are native to the area.

Each of the 4 cabins sleep 6, with 2 sets of bunk beds that each have 1 queen bed on the bottom and 1 extra-long twin bed on the top.
