Lakeville, MN – The YMCA of the North, a leading nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, on May 2 will host the inaugural Bigfoot Hide & Sneak for youth and families at YMCA Camp Gathering Pines in Lakeville.
Families are invited to step into the forest for a self-guided storybook walk through the beautiful trails of Gathering Pines. Bigfoot and his woodland pals are playing a game of hide and sneak, but there’s just one problem: no one can find Bigfoot!
Families will receive a map filled with clues to search for their missing buddy. Along the two-mile trail, participants will explore the scenic landscape of Gathering Pines and discover fun facts about the natural environment. This go-at-your-own-pace adventure is perfect for curious kids and their grown-ups.
The event is open to children and adults ages 3 and up. At registration, participants choose their preferred 20-minute starting session. Registration includes a brand new Unlock It! self-guided map to use during the event and bring home as a keepsake, along with a finisher’s medal and refreshments at the end of the search. To learn more and register, visit the YMCA of the North website.
“Bigfoot Hide & Sneak is an opportunity for youth and families to enjoy time in nature while exploring, discovering and working together in a unique and creative way,” said Glen Gunderson, president and CEO of the YMCA of the North. “YMCA of the North events like Bigfoot Hide & Sneak help participants build curiosity, connection and a love of outdoor adventure that they can continue cultivating long after the event is over.”
Bigfoot Hide & Sneak is presented with the support of Minnesota’s Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund (ENRTF).
