Minneapolis, MN – The YMCA of the North, a leading nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, welcomes Michelle T. Edgerton as executive vice president of advancement and development.

Edgerton will be advancing the successful efforts of the $227 million Forward For All campaign to strengthen people, places and programs to serve the community.  She will be collaborating with YMCA teams focusing on new initiatives like George Wellbeing and programs that are accessible, affordable and for all. Edgerton will cultivate and maintain donor relationships; lead philanthropic initiatives; and collaborate with fundraising committees to direct and inspire successful outcomes for all development strategies, events and campaigns.

Previously, Edgerton held leadership positions at community-focused organizations including chief development officer for United States of Care, chief advancement officer for Northside Achievement Zone, chief advancement officer for The Family Partnership and director of development for Twin Cities Rise. In 2019, she founded The Edgerton Group, an innovative, strategic fundraising and organizational development consulting firm

Edgerton holds a Master of Arts degree in Leadership from Augsburg University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Wake Forest University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree from Luther Seminary. She serves as president of the board of directors for the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) – Minnesota Chapter and is a member of the Global Board of Directors for AFP.
