Minneapolis, MN – The YMCA of the North, a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, June 22-26 will host Camp Superkids, a one-week overnight camp experience at YMCA Camp Ihduhapi designed specifically for young people ages 7-16 with asthma and their siblings, friends and other supportive peers.

Asthma is the most common chronic disease of childhood. An estimated 5 million young people in the U.S. have asthma. Camp Superkids, which has been operating at Camp Ihduhapi for over 50 years, teaches youth and their families about how to better manage their asthma. This experience helps kids with asthma feel more independent and confident.

Camp Superkids offers the magic of traditional YMCA camp – canoeing, campfires, cabin life and community – with the added reassurance of a medically supportive environment. In addition to camp counselors and program staff, highly skilled providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and program leaders provide 24-hour medical supervision and education.

Spots are still available to attend Camp Superkids 2025. To learn more and register, visit the YMCA of the North website.
