Gain Perspective from Dr. Hedy Lemar Walls
As we experience ongoing trauma from tragic events affecting our community like unprovoked killings of Black men, racist attacks on Asian Pacific Islanders, health and economic disparities from COVID and more, we may realize that the equity journey we are on is arduous. We are encouraged by the start of where we feel we may see progress in our community and company to eradicate inequities. And then we feel disheartened by the stop of where we see progress stalled as another tragedy happens.
Those are the times when our equity educational and enrichment experiences are most enlightening. That is when we need to take the time to remember and reflect on what we have learned and what we are experiencing in real time. What have you learned on your equity journey on how we can build a more equitable and welcoming community that can give you the impetus to give even more energy to your equity journey and make real change.
Whether it is the Equity Leadership Institute, Transformational Workplace Culture series, custom training, free online classes or more, the YMCA Equity Innovation Center is here for you to intentionally engage in thought-provoking experiences and resources that will expand your knowledge and skills. We hope you will join us as you continue your equity journey.
