University YMCA Community Board – Student Members

The University Y Community Board provides 5 positions for current students to volunteer as members. This provides access to professionals who are investing in the UY through our committees and events.  Truly a rewarding and great leadership development opportunity for those that step up to serve!

Y Collegiate Achievers Program + Service

Y CAP supports first year students that identify as underrepresented on the U of M campus. Students will join small groups with assigned peer mentors who support, share their resiliency stories and connect students to reliable resources and opportunities each week.  Professional mentors, events and variety of social emotional support practices offered to Y CAP students in their first through senior year.

+ Service provides Page Scholars who are in Y CAP a community service mentoring role that will meet their scholarship requirements as part of Y CAP.

Step N’ Stones is a youth serving program that engages young adults college mentors with youth in activities to promote self-efficacy growth, goal strategizing/setting and learning support!

    Learn about UY students and how they are facilitating and advocating for middle school through high school youth to Stamp Out the Stigma regarding brain and mental health through Take 5 workshops, Currently offered virtually!

Non-Profit Management Internships

UY internships offer opportunities to develop workforce readiness skills while growing as cause driven leaders within a non-profit setting.
