In-Branch Opportunities for Youth

The Hudson YMCA offers work-out childcare, Safe Sitter, a Teen Center, a Skate Park, and many more programs directed exclusively for young people to be healthy and active, build leadership skills and prepare for the future. Workout Child Care

When you come to work out at the Y, consider bringing your children along for the fun that awaits them at Kids Stuff, the Y’s child care program. Children ages six weeks to 10 years that are members can participate in age-appropriate activities in a safe environment—free for Family and One Adult Family Members. Learn more

Teen Center

Hudson YMCA Rotary Teen Center

The Teen Center is free and open to all students in grades 5-12. Our teen center is fully staffed and equipped to keep middle and high school students busy! Foosball, ping pong, board games, music, and more! Come check it out! Passes are free and required.

School Year Hours (until October 31)

  • Monday - Friday: 3 - 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 12 - 5 p.m.

Winter Hours (November - April) 

  • Monday - Friday: 3 - 6 p.m.

Youth in Government and Model United Nations

Youth in Government

Get engaged with the important issues that face the state, nation and world. Learn how government works in order to make change happen. Speak your truth and listen with respect while others share theirs. Students gather at the Minnesota State Capitol to learn the "ins-and-outs" of government, and have the chance to participate in making bills, challenging court cases, lobbying, and more! Open to those in grades 8-12.

Model United Nations 

For three days every spring, students take part in an experiential learning process as Ambassadors and UN Officials in simulated international diplomacy. Students in grades 7-12 can choose to serve in the General Assembly, International Court of Justice, Economic and Social Council, Security Council, Human Rights Council, or the Media. Model UN offers students the chance to experience the richness of different cultures around the world, develop empathy, and hone their critical thinking skills while engaging with a wide variety of perspectives and global issues. Safe Sitter Classes

Safe Sitter®, an up-to-date and well-rounded youth development program with a medical basis, teaches youth between the ages of 11 and 14 everything they need to know to keep themselves and the children in their care safe. The nationally-recognized, pediatrician-developed program includes child care techniques, basic first aid, rescue techniques (like choking infant and child rescue), babysitting as a business, and online and cellphone safety.
