Our programs for kids and teens promote wellness grounded in the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Sports

Kids learn teamwork and build skills through YMCA youth sports.

School Age Care

Our partnerships with local school districts offer before- and after-school care and school-release day options for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade at dozens of locations across the Twin Cities.

Summer Programs

For the summer, children in preschool through eighth grade can enjoy a variety of enrichment programs.

Day Camp Guy Robinson

Traditional day camp is located at Lake George Regional Park. Free busing available.

Arts and humanities classes

Encourage expression in creativity with enrichment classes for kids. These classes are only offered during select times throughout the year. Contact Member Services at 763-230-9622 for more info.

Birthday parties

We have everything you need for a hassle-free birthday party at the Y. Choose from two- and three-hour options that include fun and age-appropriate activities for kids.

Parents night out

Due to capacity restrictions per COVID guidance from government and health departments, Parents Night Out events are cancelled at this time. The health and safety of youth and families is our priority. Please check back as we will continue to provide updates on this page as circumstances change.

Workout Child Care

Kids Stuff is now available. Please see the information below for hours and guidelines.

When you come to work out at the Y, consider bringing your children along for the fun that awaits them at Kids Stuff, the Y’s child care program. Children ages six weeks to 10 years that are members can participate in age-appropriate activities in a safe environment—free for members.

Due to COVID-19, reservations are required and can be made online up to 24 hours in advance and up to 30 minutes prior to your child’s visit. For more details on what to expect for your child in Kids Stuff, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions, under “Kids and Teens”.

Homeschool P.E.

YMCA Homeschool Physical Education is designed to teach the importance of healthy living through sports and aquatics activities. From September to May, the program follows comprehensive curriculum that includes instruction in sports, gym games, fitness skills, and pool activities. YMCA Homeschool PE is a great place to meet new friends, create long lasting relationships and learn about the importance of healthy living.

Teen Leadership

Special programming for teens in middle and high school is designed to help young people be healthy and active, build leadership skills and prepare for the future.

CycleHealth Adventure Racing

Unique seasonal fitness challenges, motivation programs and adventure races that keep kids physically active all year long.

Youth Center

A free program run in partnership with the Andover YMCA and the Andover Community Center for Middle School Students. Youth Center offers students a safe place to hang out and participate in activities at the YMCA. Membership is not required to be a part of this program.
