*Priority Deadline: Delegates that register by October 17th will have a higher chance of getting their top program area choice.

Once registered for Youth in Government, students will utilize their Regy account to receive their assignment and submit program area materials. An e-mail will be sent to the student's e-mail address with their account log-in username and password . DO NOT create your own account. If you do not receive an e-mail from Regy (check spam inbox), please e-mail youthvoice@ymcanorth.org.

STUDENT REGISTRATION

To register for YIG, you will need: 

  • Credit Card – You will need to pay a deposit via credit card. If other accommodations need to be made, please contact your Delegation Director.
  • Delegation Name – The YMCA, group, or school that your student is a participant with.
  • Student's Program Area Preferences – Select delegates top three program area choices. Program area assignments are based on multiple factors. Delegates should not assume their program area until they have confirmed it in their Regy account. 
    • 8th Grade Students: Leadership Corps ONLY
    • Elected/Appointed Officials: Choose Elected/Appointed Official Option ONLY
  • Student's E-mail – This must be unique and different from your email or any other student's email otherwise their registration WILL NOT WORK. Note: School e-mail addresses often get blocked in our system. The Center for Youth Voice only communicates with students about YIG-related matters. Student email addresses are never shared outside the YMCA.

After completing your registration, your student should receive an e-mail with their Regy account information, which confirms they are registered for Youth in Government 2024. If they do not receive an e-mail from Regy, please contact youthvoice@ymcanorth.org.

Financial Assistance

A note regarding financial assistance: The YMCA offers financial assistance through discounted fees to students who have financial limitations but still want to participate in our programs. Please apply for financial assistance prior to registering. The application process will ask for previous years' taxes and/or pay stubs.

Refund and cancellation policy

Except in case of extenuating circumstances that are determined on a case-by-case basis, the refund policy for Youth in Government is as follows:

  • The registration deposit ($100) is non-refundable.
  • After the first payment deadline (11/7/23), what has been paid is no longer refundable.
  • After the second payment deadline (12/5/23), no fees are refundable
  • Organizations that receive a group bill for participants from the Center for Youth Voice will fall under the same refund timeline and policies as described above.
  • Cancellations must be in writing and are submitted to the local Delegation Director, not the Center for Youth Voice.
  • If a delegate has a significant discipline issue or violation of the Code of Conduct, we reserve the right to dismiss the delegate, without refund, for the remainder of the session.
ADULT ADVISOR & COLLEGE STUDENT (RA) REGISTRATION

To register for YIG, you will need: 

  • Credit Card – You will only need to pay a fee if you would like a private room.
  • Delegation Name – The YMCA, group, or school that you are connected too. 
  • Program Area Preferences – Select the program areas you would like to support. Please note: as a best practice, we do not put parent's in their child's program area. You will be able to observe your student in your time "off."

  • E-mail that you check – You will get a conference e-mail prior to the event with all pertinent information for you to be successful.
